France's Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Q4 2020: Sensor Tower Insights

In the fourth quarter of 2020, France's carpooling and ridesharing app landscape showed varying user engagement and download figures. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into how these apps have performed in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

Uber - Request a ride saw a fluctuation in downloads starting at 31K, dipping to 16K in early November, and then rising back to 29K by the end of December. Weekly active users peaked at 902K in late September, followed by a drop, with a rebound to 817K active users in the last week of December.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus experienced a similar trend with downloads beginning at 26K, falling to 7K in November, and climbing to 18K by December's end. The weekly active users for the app started at 213K, decreased to 97K in November, and increased again to 203K by the end of the period.

Heetch - Ride-hailing app downloads began at 12K and saw a decrease to 6K in early November, before climbing to 13K by the close of December. The app's weekly active users showed a slight decline from 63K to 62K over the quarter.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads started at 7K, dipped to 6K in mid-November, and ended the quarter at roughly the same level they started. Weekly active users showed more variability, peaking at 91K in mid-November and then settling at 79K by the end of December.

Lastly, BlaBlaCar Daily (Covoiturage) saw its downloads start at 9K, dip to 4K, and recover to 8K, while its weekly active users decreased from 34K to 27K and then slightly increased to 32K in the final weeks of the quarter.
